It only takes a couple of weeks to acclimatise. Once you get here for your stroll around the country, you'll become weak and sooky like me! You'll go home a ruined man.

582. happyture5 June 2011, 10:15 GMT +02:00

I eat me spinach i does!

586. xymonau6 June 2011, 2:31 GMT +02:00

I prefer silverbeet. With mashed potato.

It's a glorious day, blue skies and bright sun. No rain. Cool, but fine for short sleeves. And I'm not at work. I just had another thing cut off my back. It was less of a drama than the last one. And shortly, I'm off to the dentist. I have no idea what grisly things he has in store for me, but I have a toothache - had it for weeks - and I just have to do it. I'm also booked in to have my - wait for the glamour - ingrown toenails removed in a couple of months. Well, one side, anyway. They won't do both at once, they say, because it is too disabling. If I was having plastic surgery or something, I might have a big payoff. But this is a bit ordinary. Still, it has to be done.

If I'm not a drooling mess, I will have to go into work after the dentist. If not, I'm going home.

587. xymonau6 June 2011, 5:49 GMT +02:00

Drooling mess. I couldn't afford the root canal, so I had the thing pulled out. I nearly fainted at the cost of that - $350. Unbelievable. The root canal was going to cost $1800 plus another $1700 for a crown on the tooth. No wonder noone looks after their teeth at those rates.

When all the local anaesthetic wears off, I'm going to be a bit sorry for myself. I haven't felt even a twinge from my back yet.

588. happyture6 June 2011, 7:58 GMT +02:00

Its so wrong, you could buy a used car for that price, i would love to know just how they come up with these prices, must be something like,,,$50 for pulling the tooth, $300 for the Golf retirement fund, Well young lady i wish you a speedy recovery and at those prices a lotto win :O)

589. xymonau6 June 2011, 8:43 GMT +02:00

Well, once the pain from the procedure is gone, at least the toothache will be gone, too. I am disappointed that it has come to this. I'm going to be looking after the rest of them from now on! But at a cheaper dentist, methinks.

I was interested to see that the tooth - a molar - had only one root. He said they must have fused at some time in my childhood. And it was larger than normal, too. That's probably because I'm larger than life.

590. happyture6 June 2011, 8:57 GMT +02:00

Now that's Spooky they said the very same thing about my brain,, it must have fused when i was very young,,we're like blooming twins Dezzie!!!

Still, if they win gold medals, they can afford it. I've seen a few homeless men with huge feet. Unfortunately, it's just impossible to find any shoes for them. It's hard enough finding huge sizes in the cities, let alone in a price range they can afford.

I have to go back to work tomorrow and face the homeless. It was good having the day off. Given that I still can't eat properly or drink hot drinks properly, I was glad to be home. The pain has been there most of the day, but aspirin works wonders. I'm not supposed to have it, but I'm past caring.
